The violinist Kim Miyoung, born in Seoul, has studied under Professor Corrado Romano, who was a disciple of the great master of the violin, Carl Flesch(1873-1944), at Conservatoire de Musique de Genève obtaining the concert diploma, Le Prix de Virtuosité, the last degree of the formation. She then widens her study with Prof. Max Rostal at Konservatorium für Musik in Bern obtaining Solistendiplom and also with Professor Sandor Vegh in several master classes. Back to South Korea, she continues to concertize as solist, as chamber musician after her career as the 1st violinist of the Kumho String Quartet and as the concertmasterin of Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra.
Through many recitals she has given in various cities in Korea as well as in European countries like France, Switherland, Germany,etc., she is recognized as a violinist with various tone colour , which comes from the profound interpretation. Kim Miyoung has widened her musical world by her study of the musicology at Sorbonne, Paris4, actually beside the activities of Duo A&U , she has been leading Daejeon Chamber Orchestra.
바이올리니스트 김미영과 기타리스트 김정열로 구성된 Duo A&U는 2010부터 함께 활동하며 순수 리사이틀 외에도 미술과 건축 등의 강의에서, 혹은 작은 규모의 하우스 콘서트를 통해 청중과 가까이서 호흡하며 자신들의 이름의 취지인 Art(예술)와 Union(일치)을 실천하려는 노력을 하고 있다. 클래식의 대중화가 자칫 예술적 가치의 하락으로 이어지지 않도록 깊이 있는 해석과 신중한 편곡에 심혈을 기울이는 것 역시 이 팀의 가치관이기도 하다. 바이올린과 기타를 위해 작곡된 곡들이 많지 않지만, 이 팀은 기타리스트 김정열의 편곡에 의해 시대별, 장르 별로 다양한 레퍼토리를 소화하며 이 들만의 세계를 구축해 나가고 있다. 2013년 4월에 Sony Classic에서 첫 음반을 발매하며 <조화와 대비>가 어우러지는 듀오라는 호평을 받고 있고, 2018년 11월에 두번째 음반을 발매하며 더 넓어진 레퍼터리와 깊어진 성숙미를 유감없이 펼치고 있다. 이 들은 2015년 일본 연주와 2016년 네덜란드 연주를 시작으로 국제적 활동을 펼치고 있으며 2017년에 독일과 네덜란드에서 초청 공연을 가지며 큰 호평을 받았고 2019년에 일본 호까이도공연을 , 2020년에는 사라예보 공연을 가졌다.
또한 Duo A&U는 2015년부터 <Decoding BACH> 시리즈를 기획하여 두 악기를 위한 무반주 바흐 작품들의 완주와 창작곡을 연주해오고 있으며, 2019년 4월 부터는 유튜브를 통해 자신들의 연주와 한국의 아름다움을 영상에 접목하거나 실황 연주를 내보내는 <에이클래식>이란 채널을 운영하고 있다.
